Goldberg & Variations Are Coming Sunday, May 28, 2017 @ 3 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, Hamilton

If you have never heard J. S. Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” played on recorders, viola da gamba and harpsichords, you must come and hear us. We’ll entertain you with a harpsichord solo, duets, trios with 2 harpsichords and viola da gamba, and other interesting combinations with recorders, and dazzle you with an assortment of many of the “Goldberg Variations”. Of course we’ll not play all these one after the other. Just to add to the variation theme, you’ll hear a trio play Scarlatti’s “Quartettino in 3 movements”; the meditative “Nigra sum, sed Formosa” by Palestrina for some heavenly music; “Sonata a 7 flauti” by Schmeltzer; “Gigue I & II”, and “Rigaudon”, from Handel’s Water Music Suite in G major, HWV 350; and Busnois’ mournful “In mijnen sin”.  We finish off our concert with the lively “Revecy Venir du Printans by Le Jeune.

I may be biased but this will be a great concert. The consort sounds better than ever.
